Problem Note 44631: The ACCESS engine might generate an error when operating on a datetime variable

DetailsAboutRate It

In-database procedures that support the summary object include MEANS, SUMMARY, TABULATE, and REPORT. When the ACCESS engine is used with one of these procedures with a database that includes a datetime column, the following error might be issued (the message might vary depending on the database):

ACCESS ENGINE: ERROR: CLI describe error: [IBM][CLI Driver][DB2/AIX64]SQL0440N
No authorized routine named "SUM" of type
"FUNCTION" having compatible arguments was found.

One workaround is to explicitly code a VAR statement (or a COLUMN statement with the REPORT procedure) that excludes any datetime variables. Another workaround is to add the following OPTIONS statement to turn off in-database processing:

options sqlgeneration=none;
